Maybe we're wrong but our thought is Kawasaki named this bike Versys to be short for Versatile, because that's exactly what these are. That's backed up by awards from MotorCyclist Magazine (Bike of the Year 2008) and MotorCycle News (Best in Class "Allrounder"). A fun and snappy parallel twin cylinder motor it can perform like a sport/standard a la the Ninja 650, but with a more upright riding position, taller and longer travel adjustable suspension allowing it to flirt with sport touring and mild adventure riding.
